Bushing & Bearings 101

Bushings are the flexible, vibration-resistant mounts on Saab cars and SUVs that enable various auto parts to move the way they're designed to, and limit the vibration felt in vehicle cabins. They're usually found on the control arms, sway bars, and strut mounts on a vehicle's suspension, plus elsewhere on its body. The simplest type of bushing: an inner sleeve, made of metal, bonded using rubber to an outer sleeve. Some bushings are oil-filled, while others are molded.

Bearings are smooth metal rollers, usually balls, with equally smooth inner and outer metal surfaces made of metal that the balls roll against. They're designed to bear (support) loads, allowing any auto parts that spin to turn with minimal resistance.

Signs of Bad Bushing & Bearings

Over time, bushings can wear out and bearings can fail. The signs and symptoms of this include shrinking, stiffened, cracking, or softening bushing surfaces, plus unusual tire wear, pulling sideways when accelerating or braking, clunking noises when driving over uneven terrain, and vibration while your vehicle is moving. If you suspect the bushings and bearings in your Saab vehicle are failing and need to be replaced, do a careful inspection first to be sure of the problem.

Why Buy Bushing & Bearings for Saab from Countryside Volkswagen?

OE Quality

Saab manufactures OEM bushings and bearings for its cars and SUVs exclusively. So, what you get will be up to the same high standards that you've come to expect. Aftermarket options, however, may not always be the same quality, and they may not work as well as original ones.

Compatibility Assurance

Naturally, a Saab bushing or bearing will fit and work with a Saab model, whether that's a Saab 9-3, a Saab 9-5, or otherwise. Aftermarket options, on the other hand, can end up not-so-great fits.

Warranty Support

No bushing or bearing that Saab makes should have any defects in materials and workmanship. On the off-chance that you notice one that does, it'll get taken care of. You're unlikely to get this peace of mind from any bought on the aftermarket.
