OEM Saab Windshield Wiper Blades
Rainwater, snow and ice, road debris, even insects -- it all hits the windshield of a Saab sooner or later. During a drive, when it builds up, it can obscure your view of the road. Luckily, your OEM windshield wiper blades are there to help clear it all away.
Windshield wipers are actually different from wiper blades, though. The former are the motorized, pivoting arms that hold the blades, and depending on which Saab model you drive, it'll have either an electric motor or a pneumatic motor. Most vehicles today have electric wiper motors; pneumatic wiper motors, you're more likely to find in older models.
Most wipers and blades run on one of two settings, either intermittent or continuous. Factor in a windshield washer system and washer pump, and the sweeping away gets easier, with help from either washer fluid or water. Unfortunately, no wiper blade lasts indefinitely. There are signs to look for when it's time to change them. They include:
- A bent or broken frame
- Cracked wiper blade rubber
- Squeaking noises when wipers are running
- Streaking during wiping
- Blade detachment because of bad adhesive
